Stewardship
Mission:
The Mission of the Stewardship Office is to operate within the written stewardship philosophy statement, to provide personal attention, quality service, and accurate information to the people it serves, and to secure the gift resources necessary to provide for LBC’s immediate and long-range financial goals, needs, and plans.
Analysis of Evidences:
Most of the work of the last three years has focused on the refinement of department staffing and objectives to prepare for and execute a capital campaign while simultaneously supporting our annual fund (Scholarshare). With the help of a consultant we established a plan for the capital campaign (feasibility study, creation of collaterals, planning of events, establishment of a Steering Committee and the creation of a timeline and objectives). This resulted in refinement of job descriptions, the establishment of realistic individual and team objectives, the creation of training for the Board of Trustees, the evaluation of our donor base and establishing clear communication objectives. In the last 24 months we have added one staff position, begun a merger with the Ambassador Foundation, re-configured our office space for more efficient use, acquired 309 new donors and reactivated 151 lapsed donors. As we move forward, continued efforts need to be applied to complete the merger of the Stewardship/Advancement office and the Ambassador Foundation. We also need to create additional educational materials for the Board, Corporation members and friends of the college about ways they can support and help us connect with others. And finally, we want to continue to develop better ways of donor acquisition, including individuals, businesses and churches.
